The firefighting tool system

The Firefighter Tool Universal Handle is centerpiece of the fire fighting tool system. Most noteworthy, weighing just 2.1 pounds, this specially engineered 37 -inch hickory wooden handle includes a high strength, aluminum alloy quick connect head with squared threads and a snap-lock fitting.

The Firefighter Tool “Universal Handle” advantages

The Firefighter Tool Universal Handle has some key advantages.  First of all, this Universal Handle is 3-inches longer.  In addition, this longer handle provides extended reach and reduces bending over when doing earth work. Even more, it is approximately two to three times the strength of a traditional Pulaski handle. Finally, with the lighter tool head, you can swing it much faster.  Therefore, it needs to be stronger.

Hickory is the best handle wood

This tool handle is made of American Hickory the most common wood for axe handles. Hickory excels because of its combination of strength and flexibility.  Its strength allows it to take massive shocks without splitting or cracking. In addition, hickory is one of the most durable woods available. Read more here about Hickory The Best Type Of Wood For Axe Handles.

High stress parts are aluminum

The handle with its hardened-aluminum CNC-manufactured male fitting, is designed to lock into all Quick Connect tool heads.   Fore this reason, the name “Universal Handle”.  Furthermore, the alloy aluminum fitting is at the point where most axe handles break.  As a result, this makes the handle one of the most durable handles available.

The tool head doesn’t slip off

Sooner or later, most tool heads slip off.  Not so for the Universal Firefighter Tool Handle. The head adapter  has thick, square threads and a locking roll pin.  This prevents tool heads from loosening and sliding off the handle.  As a result, this solves a common problem with conventional wildfire hand tools.

Secured with a locking pin

Even more important, the locking pin securely locks the tool heads in position.  Due to the strong locking spring tension, each order includes a Hand Key, shown in the gallery.  This key is for releasing the handle locking button.  The key also includes a spare screw for the roll pin.

There are a number of available Quick Change heads:
